To have or not to have….

…two TVs?  First post of the new ‘must try harder’ phase concerns TVs or lack of TVs.  We (me and the boyf) live in a teeny flat and currently have one TV.  Neither of us are Telly Addicts (except for Spooks, obviously, and my persistent fascination with America’s Next Top Model) and so we can usually agree to disagree or compromise on what we watch.  That is until the evil football is on.

In an attempt to save money for the festive season, the grand plan was to stay in more until the rounds of Xmas dos and lunches begin.  So, with this aim in mind, I settled down to watch ‘Survivors’ on BBC1 on Sunday, safe in the knowledge that I would indeed be in for installment number 2 on Tuesday night.  Little did I know that the beloved Man U would be playing in what I’m assured was a ‘really important game’.  So, stupidly I buckled under the pressure of the almighty Man U and ended up missing Survivors part 2.  My question is – do we need another TV?  Perhaps a TV in the bedroom or would this sound the death knell for our marriage before it’s even happened?

Since starting to write this post, it’s occurred to me that no, we don’t need another TV.  Potential solutions are as follows:

1. Get Sky+

2. Improve my footballing knowledge so I can disprove the importance of particular football matches

3. Do not buckle under football pressure

4. Don’t have any TVs

Option 1 is a possibility and would potentially help with the not-going out thing as would have lots of progs saved to watch 24/7; I have no inclination to improve my footballing knowledge so 2 is not an option; non-buckling under football pressure might be a big ask so 3 could be quite problematic, and I definitely would struggle without my weekly fix of Jay Manuel and Tyra on ANTM so 4 isn’t an option.  Sky+ then?  Any other suggestions most definitely welcome.
